You Are Not My Mother!

P.D. Eastman published a children's book in 1960 called "Are You My Mother?" My mom gave it to me knowing that it was about a little bird that falls out of his nest and goes looking for his mother. I read it dozens of times and bought it for my kids when they were of the age.

This wonderful story teaches the young reader some very important things about independence, adventure, social communities and belonging, the impact humans have on nature, family loyalty, trust and love.

This little guy brought the book to mind, even though he was only yawning when I snapped him.
