Leaf light

Didn't go much further than the front gate today, but did notice the late afternoon light coming through these leaves. So here it is.
Quite surprisingly strong light, considering the late hour and that it was quite overcast. Still, there you go, as they say.

I've had these plants by my front step for decades, see them every day and never known what they're called. Some botanist!

(I do know the agapanthus and the columbine.)
