Culprit

Update on my Mum for all the kind people that sent her good wishes on yesterday's blip; we've been with her almost all of today and she is in much better spirits. Her care has gone from disgraceful to exemplary in the space of 12 hours. She'll have to stay in hospital until she sees the maxillo-faciale specialist on Monday. They are concerned that the broken bones in her face may interfere with the muscles that move the eye. So she may have to have an operation.

She's much more au fait today after her complete derangement yesterday, although she still says "Where was I whilst all this was going on?" as if she wasn't the central figure.

The sensible question she asks is "Did I do anything stupid to bring the fall on?" The simple answer is Yes. Mum was wearing her bifocals when she failed to see a tree root and took a purler onto the tarmac surrounding it. We've implored her not to wear them when she's walking about because she can't see obstacles near her feet. Perhaps this fall will persuade her.
