Eggregious Waste

It was water sampling day at Lake Padden. The sun was shining brightly and there was hardly any wind. I felt lucky to be there on such a beautiful day.

As I was walking through the woods to the second sampling site I found these eggs next to a tree. I can't think of a logical reason why someone would take the trouble to carry them from their car and dump them there. Can you?

C said I should blip a photo of the lake, but I thought regular viewers might be tired of seeing Lake Padden. I did put one on my Flickr photostream, just in case anybody is interested.
