I had a knock on my door late this night. My neighbour, Margaret had found a baby hedgehog. Here it is. Quite sweet isn't it? Unfortunately, it needed rescuing or it risked death by hibernation!

Apparently they have to be a certain minimum weight to survive the winter and this one was far too small. Blame the mild weather as it encourages the hedgehogs keep breeding and their poor little offspring don't have chance to grow before the big sleep.

Margaret took this one to the the local sanctuary where it will be fed and cared for to give it a fighting chance.
