Nikolaustag

For my German friends I have to say that I have polished my shoes and put them outside my bedroom door tonight. I am sure I have been good so I expect them to be full of homemade sweets and biscuits in the morning not twigs !.

I love the old fashioned bits of Christmas and rather dislike the commercialism so the old German traditions are great with me. Although I have never tried it before, if all goes to plan my Aga simmering oven will provide me with nice dried fruit to use as decorations (or eat) in about 12 hours. Alternatively if I have got the timings wrong I may have tiny charred biscuits, I will tell you tomorrow :-)
