Thai...

Went out for dinner tonight... Thai Lemongrass at Bruntsfield... lovely it was too! I was so excited when the main course came I forgot to take a photo! So this is the starter... I couldn't decide whether you're meant to eat the leaves so I ate a bit of them but then it was a bit too chewy... I guess my plate went back to the kitchen and they'd either say "she didn't eat her leaves" or "OMG, she ate the leaves" either way it was delish!

In other news I still have no heating but I have yet another bloke coming round tomorrow night to have a look. What is with the lack of interest in the business? You'd think people would want it? Clearly not!!

Anyway, to make myself feel better I had another rant at the Council - still no reply from last week's effort but I live in hope!

I'm assuming that I'm going to hear from someone tomorrow as per your earlier response... I'm sure they've been rushed off their feet with all the Christmas cheer and the switching on of lights etc. and are in the process of laughing at my query.

I thought perhaps being stuck in the office, whoever is planning(?!) to respond may have missed the actual tree in Restalrig so I've attached a photo, complete with the ridiculous barrier for your amusement!

Now, whilst I'm guessing that this is surely down to some random health and safety issue and not for security or something equally bizarre, I'm pretty sure that if someone wanted to steal the lights or indeed the tree, or perhaps there's a big secret plot to dig up the huge concrete post that's been buried in the ground, then they'd just move the barrier out of the way first!

I'd be hugely grateful if you could clarify, why this barrier has been left where it is? Not only do I have to look at this tree for over a month but between it going into the selected spot at ridiculous o'clock (see my previous email), the men coming to attach the lights a few days later, again in the evening (I'm wondering if they're all moonlighting and they're actually tram workers in the daytime!), there was no barrier round said tree. Then the day of the grand switching on of the lights comes round and the barrier appears to have been left behind in all the festivities. What is the purpose of this barrier?

I'll await your response, which I'm sure will be wholly satisfying not only to my original email but also to this one. I am looking forward to it immensely.
