Opportunist

Lovely full day today. We headed up to a park next to the zoo for a bit, then into the zoo itself. It's a nice open zoo - you don't just feel like you're on a conveyor belt from cage to cage, and all the animals look like they have some space.

Then we headed down to some locks (Ballard?) where they have a ladder for the salmon. I've never seen this before (shameful really given I live in Scotland) and it was fab - really acrobatic fish. I did get one nice shot of a salmon jumping really high - but have to agree with my friends that it looks a bit like a slug on a wall. I guess you had to be there. Anyway, the subject of today's blip was sitting looking down on the salmon ladder, just hoping...

Today's photographic challenge was to take every picture on manual focus - which was a lot harder than I expected... Tomorrow's challenge will be to restrain myself during a lens shopping trip (armed with advice from blip's fab new forum).
