A touch of Winter
I was up early to blow the cobwebs away and hopeful of some crisp snow or sunrise shots.
We walked up through Cottingley woods past the Folly but then turned down to cross Beckfoot Golf Course. There was a little crisp snow on the surface of the grass but it was still very soggy and muddy underneath. There was a brief glow in the sky heralding sun but as you can see in this shot the clouds to the left were heralding something else!
Here you can see the woods of the St Ives estate with the mansion visible through the bare trees. when we reached the golf course we had hail followed by snow and a very strange pink sky.
Hail across the golf course
We made our way up Beckfoot Lane and then across the fields below the woods you can see here. When we reached the small housing estate on the edge of the village the clouds were rolling away and backlit by the sun that was trying to fight it's way through.
Backlit clouds
Cobwebs well and truly blown!
