Chickadee-dee-dee
Beautiful day again here in the Pacific Northwest. This is a little too zoomed in on, but I wanted to catch one of my feeder visitors today, and I need to get them used to me being outside with them trying to take photos. I heard lots of dee-dee-dee warnings voiced about the new presence in the backyard during one of their feeding runs. I was actually trying to catch the nuthatch so Debbi could see what ours look like, but the photos of him didn't show up too well. I was buzzed by a hummingbird at one point too, but the lighting wasn't good and I didn't catch him before he left.
This is a chestnut backed chickadee, not as common as the black capped, their range is mostly tight through the Northern California through British Columbia coastline. Their call is very similar to the black capped, just has a little different tone. Here the cousins flit about together and visit at the same time.
