Venise Verte of Oxford?

This stream, the Bulstake Stream, in its winter glory, reminded me of the Marais Mouille or the Venise Verte in the Vendee where you can hire a punt and work your way along the waterways. It's a vast labyrinth of canals there, whereas this stream is effectively a drainage ditch that loops round Oxford to relieve the Thames of some of its water. One place or the other it's all just reclaimed swamp.
