Having made home made guava jam, I attempted to make a brazil gitano - the puerto rican equivalent of a Swiss roll filled with guava jam.

I would have blipped the cake had it not been for the fact that I had to layer the layers after a disasterous roll didn't roll. having tried it though it definatey tastes authentic and it got the hubs seal of approval too (& he should know!)
