Home made board game
In Holland we celebrate Saint Nicolas at 5 december. We changed it into the weekend because that is easier.
We celebrate it with our friends and our children. Saint Nicolas is a person with dignity and generosity. Children are told the story about saint nicolas who comes from Spain by boat with his helpers and bring presents and sweets throuhg the chimney. His helpers are black from the chimney coal. Children sing songs and put their shoes before the fire.
As adults we still celebrate saint nicolas but with our own little presents, with a poem about the last year of the person you give a present and the present is covered in a surprise. A home made cover. It is to laugh but also serious.
We have made a board game to walk over and each part we do what is told.
It was an evening with lot of fun and laughter.
