View from Old Christchurch Road

We were heading back to Christchurch today and decided to take the Old Christchurch Road just for a change. When we passed a clearing that had been made when the power cables went in, we had to stop. The road at the bottom is the main road between Christchurch and The West Coast and the River is the Taramakau.

It was a slower journey home as we kept stopping to explore new places. Griffin Creek was really cool and is just full of Schist as far as the eye can see. There was loads of driftwood from the storms a couple of weeks ago.
