Lo, How a Rose E're Blooming

I have used roses from my tiny miniature rosebush before for Blips. I have also had them on my blog several times. However, i don't think I have ever featured a rose blooming this late in the year!

This morning, I was surprised as I looked at the tiny bush...it had this flower blooming and two buds. Remember, this is New York State. We have had two blankets of snow fall on this bush, plus numerous frosts. This morning, the temperature was a bone-chilling 18 degrees. What looks like dew drops are actually ice crystals frozen on the tender little flower's petals!

This is hardly rose weather!!! This is precisely why I have loved this little bush so dearly over the past several years!
