Azerbaijani cowherd

Visiting Sheki with friends who've made the trek to visit us in Azerbaijan from San Francisco (via Madrid). A long journey and we really appreciated the effort!

We headed to Sheki in the foothills of the Caucasus mountains for the weekend - as we entered the town we found the road full of cows coming home for the evening. I took some photos of them, and of their minder who seemed quite pleased to be photographed. (When I've taken photos in the regions before, people have asked which TV station I'm from - I guess that they don't get that many tourists, even in Sheki which is Azerbaijan's biggest tourist attraction outside Baku and its surrounds.
