Some of us have been very excited today. Some of us got up early and traveled to the Newcastle v Chelsea match. Some didn't, but that didn't stop them being excited.

I had to do a bit of supermarket shopping today - I wasn't whooping with excitement over that.

Whilst the boys were at the match my girl had another gymnastic display. I opted out of watching - I have never done that before, but figure after 7 years I have seen enough. Of course I wish I had stayed. My girl will hate me for this next bit, but it has to be recorded.

When I picked her up she was super excited. The floor was apparently slippy and not as sprung as usual. The coach was aware of this and suggested the girls would have to decide for themselves whether or not they could get the height necessary for some of their flips etc. My girl is sure she doesn't tuck well. I keep telling her she does but she isn't confident.

Anyway, determined to do a tuck, despite the less sprung floor my girl told me that she 'put all the effort I could into getting up high, and in doing so I think a little bit of wee came out - but I did it and even the coach said it was superbly high!'

She was so pleased with herself. I laughed so hard a little bit of wee may have come out too. Perhaps this is all a little too much information but when your baby is 17 tomorrow (how does that happen) you have to make the most of these precious little moments cos soon I won't be the first person she tells!

On the way home through the Queen's (very own) Park (m'lady) the sky turned that an incredible grey again - the sun was shining through the clouds, creating a purple and orange light. I had to pull over - sometimes the teenager protests, I never listen.
