Triumph..

Yesterday, during my afternoon off, I decided to make a cake.
This is not a decision I made lightly; Cake baking is always a risky business with me.. I'm a newbie to the baking world, and my last few have been disasters ending in tears, tantrums and prompt disposal of said disaster cakes.

But now, with great pride, I am pleased to report that at last, I have been successful! Here is a blip of the chocolate cake I made yesterday.

I must say it was made with thanks to my patient flatmates, who each in turn contributed help and support in the making of this cake. From assuring me I was creaming butter and sugar right, to advising me on the cakes readiness to leave the oven, to instructing on how best to rectify an icing dilemma, they were there.

So it is with gratitude that I dedicate this cake (and indeed this blip) to my flatmates. By the way that slices are disappearing, I think they appreciate the gesture :)
