Snow showers

Very cold again this morning but the sky seemed clear and the sun. although weak, was apparent. So I decided to go back to Loch Turret as I knew that our normal walk would still be incredibly muddy. As I drove towards the hills it was obvious that the day was deteriorating and the temperature gauge fell from 6' to end up at 2' by the time we reached the height of the car park. Bruce was becoming very excited in the car as he recognised the walk from the other day and jumped out the minute I said the magic words. The water on the Loch was quite choppy with the freshening wind and it was fun seeing it drop over the edge into the channel below in waves. The hills had more snow on them and the front was moving in quite quickly so we embarked on our walk along the eastward edge of the loch. Cara seemed completely impervious to the cold and kept making a dash for the water as you can see in the blip. She did in fact venture in a couple of times which I caught on the camera, but when I got home I noticed that I had captured more rain drops on the screen than anything else. As the front moved ever closer I kept having to wipe the camera lens which kept my fingers just a shade warmer than frozen. Both dogs had a wonderful walk and I nearly chose this one of Cara waiting patiently for Bruce to emerge from the heather. By the time we turned to return to the car the hills opposite were obliterated and the rain had turned into sleety snow, driving into us almost horizontally which you can see here.
We drove down the narrow road with the snow coming in behind us but it had turned to rain by the time we arrived home. Another really exhilarating walk but next time I might put a Thermos of tea in the car!
