Sunshine on Leith - The Proclaimers

Bit of a hangover today... I don't expect sympathy, by the way, it was self inflicted!

Last night my friends and myself did a bit of an unusual pub crawn down Leith which ended up in Port o' Leith, which you can see in the picture. If you're from Edinburgh you may have heard of it or even been there at some point. It's a bit of an institution in Leith and a must visit, I think. The place is full of paraphernalia brought in from all sorts of visitors to the pub. The crowd includes sailors, fishermen, locals, exhibitionists who like stripping off on top of the bar and random drunk folk who probably don't even know how they ended up there in the first place. (Considering I live just a ten minute walk from there, that makes me a local, I suppose). The atmosphere is generaly very relaxed and friendly although rather chaotic. Very difficult to leave the place in a sober state! :)

Apart from nursing my hangover, I didn't do much more. Bought the secret Santa present for work, went to Tesco's to do my shopping and took this picture.

This evening I'm going to an unofficial whisky tasting organised by my good friend and fellow blipper jackjack where everybody should bring a malt of their choice and prepare a little background on the dram. Looking forward to it! I hope my hangover is sorted by then! This will be a bit of hair of the dog! :)
