Dead man's handle
A lot of tube action today, but on the way back got the chance to sit between two trains on the District line, therefore getting a good view of the inside of a train drivers compartment.
The 'Dead man's handle' is on the 'dashboard' of a train and is a switch that is kept open by the driver so that in the event of him or her falling asleep, the switch opens and the train stops preventing accidents.
