Sun-snow-lit morning

I loved the way the morning light was hitting the snow in the backyard this morning so I bundled up and went out for some pictures. I was outside for a bit before Taku decided to stick her nose out the doggie door in the garage to see who was in the backyard. She stared at me for a moment - torn between 'it's cold out there' and 'i wanna come see what you are doing'.

I only snapped a handful of shots, but I still had a hard time picking just one. Usually my snow shots aren't quite right on the white balance, but this morning I got it just right (gotta love that improvement!). Eventually chose this one because the sunlight and shadows captured my overall impression of the sun just starting to touch the snow.
