Hohenzollernbrücke

Backblip
The first full day of our Cologne mini honeymoon. We were given an engraved padlock from a Cologne native with a message that we were to take it to Hohenzollernbrücke, the main railway and pedestrian bridge. We walked along the Rhine and up the steps to the bridge and saw that many people had done the same thing over the past few years. It appears to be a relativley new trend springing up across Europe for adding "Love Padlocks" to public places. The sheer volume was very impressive and we added our small one to the rest. Apparently Deutsche Bahn are not equally impressed.

The rest of the day we wandered around the Christmas markets and went up the Dom (the huge and very impressive Gothic cathedral). Lovely meal in a traditional brauhaus later on, followed by some apfelpunsch!
