Eric Kim Workshop Day 1
Well, a successful start to the three-day workshop. It's being co-hosted by Eric Kim, Charlie Kirk, Bellamy Hunt, and Alfie Goodrich. Do a google search for some amazing photos of Tokyo, with each photographer having a very different style. I've known Alfie for a few years now and I've really wanted to meet Charlie Kirk after seeing his Bruce Gilden-style work.
Amazingly, people have flown grom all around the world to be at the workshop so there's a great international atmosphere...not many Japanese in attendance though...
I got part of my portfolio reviewed: a bit more judicial trimming of the edges to eliminate clutter was the advice. (In a bit of rush to get out to day 2 so I didn't follow the advice for today's blip), and then we went shooting round Ebisu and Shibuya trying to get to grips with zone focusing. Not easy at night!
The workshop is sponsored by Leica so I got a few hours with the M9. Very cool!
