Life's Little Moments

Frosty

And that is exactly what it was this morning - frosty! We finally had a hard frost last night, coating everything in a sugary veil. I didn't have time to get out this morning, just a quick sortie out to the front bed and back in.

I decided on Mr. Frosty as today's blip because he is cheerful and makes me smile! I did a bit of staging, setting him up on the deck rail so he'd have some nice greenery as his background - I swear I heard him giggle when I turned my back... And, no, I have not had a drop of wine yet!

I also saw a house finch today with yellow pigmentation rather than the normal red. Apparently this occurs in about 5% of the house finch population in our part of the country. It caught my eye because it was such a difference from the colors of the rest of the finch gang.

As I type this, there are about 10 finches and a downy woodpecker and an indeterminate number of titmice and chickadees just outside my window feeding away. Even through the window, I can hear the finches arguing with each other. The little woodpecker just ignores them and pecks away at the suet.

The first of my girlfriends is due to arrive in the next hour or so, so I expect we will be cracking open a bottle of something in a few hours ... cocktail hour will commence on Tallyho!

Happy Friday, blippers! Here's to you!
