Blue
... with cold rather than mood.
Another busy day of DIY, moving things, cleaning things. Oh, and getting the phone installed - yippee.
Here's a view out of the kitchen window. I have in mind a series of (daytime) shots out of the window so I can track how the garden changes over the years. We shall see. Obviously that would require me to remember to take a photo before 6pm, and to actually make some changes in the garden.
The kitchen sink was finally fit for action this morning, after a protective line of silicone had dried, and it was a joy to finally get on with the washing up (the first and last time the word "joy" will ever be used by me in conjunction with the phrase "washing up" except in a sarcastic way) which had been building up for days - with essential items having to be washed in the shower or downstairs loo (washbasin, rather than actually in the loo). So our kitchen is slowly looking more civilised, which is handy with it being one of only two rooms we are heating at the moment.
More electrical problems today - everything was tripped by some problem with a light. So now we have no lights in some rooms - something else for the electrician to attend to next week.
This afternoon saw my meeting at the school about Conor's poor poetry performance. We have reached a compromise whereby he just has to try and learn a few lines of the poem. Or he can learn a poem in English to show his friends that he's working hard too. Fair enough. So the evening was spent trying to get Conor to remember the first 2 lines of his poem about snow. Eight words. How hard could it be?
(Very.)
