Roller driver.
This chilled out road roller driver kindly agreed to me taking this environmental portrait. I have worked in a peripheral role within the construction industry for a large portion of my working life. I am amazed to see how the workers here manage to carry out the sometimes dangerous jobs with very little in the way of personal protective equipment. Asphalters wearing only flip-flop when spreading tarmac and people climbing ladders in them. Women working alongside men as coolies. These hard working folk keep going all day with a mini siesta during the hottest part of the day. The most amazing thing is seeing the transformation at the end of the shift when everyone has a good wash down with hosepipes and leave site, the ladies very smartly dressed in traditional saris, and some of the young men looking like Philadelphia lawyers.
