White Birch

I'm nursing instead of teaching today. Claire is still unwell and I have been sent home from school to look after her. I have been very anxious about leaving Claire home alone whilst I'm at work and today my very understanding colleagues sent me back home to look after her.

A Doctor appointment has been made for later in the afternoon. I suspect the dreaded tonsillitis but we'll have to see.


This is the bark from one of the birch trees in the garden. They are such sturdy and graceful trees and I love the colour of the bark; sort of chalky creamy white. The new bark underneath the old layer is a rich apricot colour, really lovely.
