send me back to the wild!

Barnyard sunrise

It's a great feeling to know that I've got a shot for the day before 9am! This was taken above Rotherham, shortly after sunrise. It was necessary to wait for the sun to rise a bit to allow some of the light to fill in the shadows behind the barn. I used a 0.9 ND graduated filter, which made the high contrast range more manageable. It's another single shot image using the Tamron 18-270 PZD. I expected to have to remove some artefacts caused by flare. This wasn't the case at all, with just a widely-dispersed lightening across the frame. I found that this helped the mood of this picture, so I was really happy with how it was handled.

Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm @ 18mm; ISO 200; F/8; 1/250s. VC on.
