Common Cause

I spent a lot of today thinking with gratitude about our amazing public services - and the fantastic people that work in them. A collective force for good I reckon.

Here's a first person view of the demo in Edinburgh - taken by my better half. He was incredibly moved by the scale of the march, and how people from all walks of life turned out in common cause. Of particular note for him was the elderly resident of the retired military personnel sheltered housing complex at the foot of the Royal Mile, who braved the cold to cheer on the marchers, shouting at the top of his voice: "Old soldiers support you - we love all of you."
