Chilean Pine

............or more commonly known as Monkey Puzzle.

Walking by the river Tay this morning, I stopped to admire this solitary tree, and wondered who had planted it and why in this particular spot. It appears so out of context, an invader from another country like the dreaded Japanese knotweed or Himalyan Balsalm that are now choking out our indigenous flowers.

So often our actions have long reaching consequences, far beyond our intentions.
For better or worse is hard to know.

Only time will tell.
