November Drabness
I miss my gardens. The November drabness makes me gloomy as the scenery grows dull again. I think the shorter daylight hours add to the gloom (that whole seasonal affective deal makes sense). For these reasons, I'm especially enjoying the holiday lights & decorations to make things brighter (even if artificially for now) while nothing new is blooming. Perhaps now that I'm blipping this year, the winter months may be surprisingly more upbeat as I have to force myself to look at winter through new eyes. (How's that for optimism?)
This is the remnant of a Hydrangea in my back yard. The dried blooms are worth letting on through the cold days for added interest.
