Track to Palterton
A track across the plateau which gradually descends behind the viewpoint towards Nottinghamshire. Palterton, ahead, is on the edge of the sharp descent to the Doe Lea valley, beyond which the ground rises again to the eastern edge of the Peak District.
There was an hour or so of rain, briefly very heavy, before getting back home. Believe it or not, any rain we can get is still most welcome in these parts - strange given the flooding further north and west.
Winter trees are a great boon for the blipper, I can tell.
