Liquid Crystals

These are liquid crystals of a protein I've been trying to crystalise at work for the past few weeks. The client wants a filterable, flowable, crystalline material (which is still a very long way off) but we're getting somewhere at least!

They looked much better down the microscope; all the colours of the rainbow and in awesome shapes. But the camera on the microscope wasn't playing the focussing game and this is the best I could do.

My image editing software was playing up aswell tonight, so I hope that sorts itself out. Off to see Take Shelter now.
