Bridge to My Heart

Wax did the song which may not have much merit other than as a link from a blip title but the sentiment does!

So, it's not easy being the wife of me (others have tried and failed LOL) but Jayne is doing a respectable job. Us time is at premium because of the job I choose to do and working unsocial shifts is by no means ideal. The time we get together is all the more valuable for that.

We were so glad that our second day at Dickleburgh Hall was spent in such lovely weather. We took a stroll around the grounds (half of which Johnny has turned into a 9 hole golf course and still maintains single-handed in his mid 70's) and spent time marvelling at the sun and blue skies. I showed great trust in Tom and lent him my car to take Lauren around the Cherry Lanes garden centre where they stocked up on smelly candles and wrapping items read for Christmas.

We learnt that the stables block at the hall is where the current thoroughbred line of Suffolk Punches was established and can be traced back to, in a breading programme that saw the horses bred here win 4 out of 5 years in succession way back in the 1700's (at least I think it was then. Apparently the breed cam about by mixing Shire horses (who's feet used to get clarted in mud due to the shaggy hair) and a Norse bred horse of some ilk. You can tell I was listening to the tale very closely. In my defence, this was the night before and I was very, very drunk at the time. Speaking of which, I was surprised that beer, wheatbeer, white wine, red wine (prawns then beef with was how dinner went) Port and karaoke, doesn't leave one with a massive hangover!

Where was I? Oh yes, walking. So we took the air then had a cuppa before it was sadly time to head off back home.

A great time was had by all.
