The Church House, Higham Ferrers

Church House is reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in HF and is believed to be one of the ancestral homes of George Washington. Lawrence Washington, Mayor of Northampton in 1532 probably lived here. His direct descendant, John Washington moved to Virginia in 1655 and his great-grandson George became President of the USA.
