Art for art's sake

I've been totally swamped with uni work of late so have not blipped much at all. Today I'm reading 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and have been learning about aestheticism and decadence - lovely!

I'm not really one for ornaments, but do like to have a few bits and bobs wherever I can to make my place my own. I love these little books and like to keep them here because they'd get totally lost on my bookcase (I do wish I had a coffee table to display my really nice art books, but alas! they must remain stacked on my bookcase!) The owl was a flatwarming present from my mum - it's a bird caller type thing so when you blow into the hole at the back it makes a nice hooting sound! I have lots of owls in the house - this is one of my favourite ones.
