Cooking on Gas

Well we all survived our first night. The kids seemed unperturbed by Mr B's snoring and slept for 12 hours. No-one was cold, in fact I was a little too warm, which proves that a warm Scotsman is more use than a hot water bottle.

(Or perhaps it was that nice bottle of rum Mr B found.)

Once the kids were off to school, Mr B headed off to return our van, and buy many DIY items. With a second DIY store run in the afternoon, we finally had enough bits to attach our cooker to the gas bottle. So pasta for dinner rather than Macdonalds.

Meanwhile I cleaned; floors, walls, doors, windows... There is so much to do. Every surface is covered in 15 years of grime plus 6 months of building site. And tomorrow I have to go and clean our rented house (though at least that's just 7 months of my neglect to clean up). Today I was waiting in for Godot; the France Telecom engineer. Sigh. I bet he shows up as soon as I leave tomorrow.
