Simple...

Its finally Friday!! I've been a little busy - havent put that much into my shots...seems like all I've had energy for is just working, eating, and sleeping.

I did wake up this morning before six...couldnt go back to sleep...decided to take advantage of the time and go on a morning walk in the woods. What a crisp morning - the weather has been absolutely perfect this week.

I did manage to grab a shot of these little flowers...I dont know what it is, but I just really liked something about this shot...maybe its the grass, the colors....hum, the angle.

I am a fruit smoothie nut - I make them all the time...even for dinner if the craving hits or when I want something refreshing and simple. Here are a few of my favorite recipes:

Raspberry Refueler - Great recovery drink after a workout - drink w/in 15 minutes - optimal time to replace your body's carbs.

1 cup diced mango
1 cup orange Gatorade
1 frozen banana - sliced
½ cup frozen unsweetened raspberries

Combine mango and Gatorade in a blender. Add bananas and raspberries - blend until smooth.

Yoga Blend -Great smoothie to replenish minerals lost during yoga - restores nutrients and aids in battle against fatigue.

1 ½ cups fresh strawberries - quartered
¾ cup diced mango
¾ cup chilled guava nectar
½ frozen banana - sliced
3-5 drops of coconut extract (optional)

Combine strawberries, mango, and guava nectar in a blender. Add bananas and optional coconut extract - blend until smooth.

Flu Buster - Triple dose of Vitamin C. Great for stuffy-head, runny nose, feeling lousy days. Take an hour before bedtime.

1 cup fresh strawberries - quartered
1 cup fresh orange juice
¾ cup diced papaya
1 frozen banana - sliced

Combine the OJ and strawberries in a blender. Add the papaya and bananas - blend until smooth.

Guiltless Pleasure - Milkshake like texture - with just 160 cals.

1 cup fresh strawberries - quartered
½ cup light vanilla soy milk
1/3 cup soft silken tofu
1 frozen banana - sliced
2 tbsp frozen pineapple juice concentrate

Combine strawberries, soy milk, and tofu in a blender. Add the banana and pineapple concentrate. Blend until smooth.

Peachy Lean - This smoothie gives a burst of antioxidants and min fat.

½ cup low fat peach yogurt
¼ cup apple juice - unsweetened
1 cup frozen blackberries
½ cup frozen chopped or sliced peaches
1 frozen banana - sliced

Combine yogurt and apple juice in a blender. Add the remaining ingredients - blend until smooth. Strain through a mesh to remove blackberry seeds if desired.
