This one's a bit grainy!

Our neighbour, John, delivered a supply of logs on Saturdayjust in time for the colder weather; there's something very satisfying about stacking them in "neat little rows", although Mrs F thinks it's just another manifestation of my OCD!

Liked the colour and pattern on this close up, so this won over the one of the "neat little rows". Also, it's quite appropriate as I spent a fair part of this morning getting a close up of the grain on another piece of wood as I was replacing the wooden toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom. To those famliar with my modest DIY skills ( i.e. Mrs F in this case), it came as no surprise that I had to take the drastic step of cutting through the (well-rusted) retaining screws on the old one with an electric saw - cue a variety of contorted positions between bath, shower & toilet! - but fitting the new one was as easy as it claimed on the packaging and, much to everyone's surprise we now even have a toilet seat that stays upright when you lift it, so no more unpleasant surprises for unsuspecting male visitors to our facilities!

I felt quite flushed with success! (sorry, couldn't resist it.)
