Stand & Deliver
Around thirteen thousand of these female yoghurt sellers do the rounds throughout Korea each day. Clad in yellow uniforms, they work for the Activia company, selling those pro-biotic drinks that are supposedly good for your stomach if you drink them on a daily basis.
Their snazzy electric carts are wheeled to both residential areas and businesses, or you can simply stop them in the street for your daily fix.
In a country obsessed with health foods and all things good for you, probiotic yoghurt is big business. Foods 'freshness' is also a major factor here - it's not unusual to open a packet of biscuits and find each one individually wrapped, or to delve a spoon into a bag of instant coffee only to discover a batch of single-serving packets inside.
To that end, a daily dose of activia delivered direct to your door is greatly appreciated, and a quickly growing market in Korea.
