Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens
This is the plantation-house-style cafe that was built at the entrance a few years ago. It reminds me of the Asa Wright nature centre in Trinidad, which is housed in an old plantation house.
Living up to their name, the gardens this morning were sheltered from the chilly wind. Firecrests bred there this year and are still present all over the garden. Someone counted 15 there yesterday. I kept hearing them, but seeing these tiny birds flitting about in dense cover was a different matter. I eventually managed to get a good view of one with S's help.
There is a birdy back-blip here from yesterday.
