Skipton Santa Race

Was about as much in the mood for running as I was for flying to australia on the back of a rabid pigeon without a seat belt, but my mate Alan persuaded me to stick with this pre booked race

My mate Helen was with me and looked after the kids.

When we arrived the weather was how shall we say... f*cking freezing but once we had our Santa outfits on, and looked and saw that 800 other people were dressed as the bearded one, we soon forgot all that and livened up.

5k in an unflattering felt outfit with a fake beard cheers up anyone and it was very uplifting to run through Skipton and see the Yorkshire Dales in their crisp winteriness as we all invaded the town as a sea of red madness.

High POint: The views from the top of the hills
Low Point: The moment i noticed a discarded beard and nearly wore it over my trousers as a pubic wig, luckily the angel in me battled it out wth the devil in me and I behaved.

Emotional afternoon at home going through the week's events with Helen and then Ziggy. but the girls have been stars all day

At risk of sounding like a stuck record, friends make all the difference
