The Cora Linn

We had a nice lunch at the New Lanark Mill Hotel, then took a walk up the river to the Falls of Clyde. If ever one has wanted to witness the sheer power of nature, the Falls dropping through the 90ft high Cora Linn in full spate, after days of heavy rain, is a good example. Messrs Dale and Owen knew a thing or two when they located their new mills where they did.

The noise was fantastic, and the huge clouds of spray were blowing right up to the viewing point.

I have often thought about kayaking down the Clyde, but today was not the day for that; the river was as wild as I have ever seen it.
