Sinterklaas

Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas) is a traditional Winter Holiday figure still celebrated in the Netherlands (and other Low Countries).
Although he is unusally refered as Sinterklaas, he is also known as Sint Nicolaas or simply as De Sint.
He is cellebrated annually on the 5th December.
In the Netherlands Sinterklaas became the chief occasion for gift-giving during the X-mas season.
