Tentsmuir November

Boy was that wind chilly!

We headed off to Tentsmuir for a walk this afternoon. The blue sky and sun lulled us into a false sense of security, it was bitter in the wind. The tide was also high which made it "interesting" negotiating some parts of the walk. We did have a nice surprise when we met Jess the dog trainer and her pack on one of the narrower stretches

In the picture you can see some of the many tank traps which line this area of the coast. The east coast of Scotland was lined with coastal defences and stop lines during World War II, in response to the German occupation of Norway and the threat of invasion from the east. Tentsmuir Coastal Defences extended from Tayport in the north, and along Tentsmuir Sands to Leuchars in the south, defending the airfield at RAF Leuchars

When I got home and defrosted I had a second go at a swiss roll. This one seemed to be more successful. Half the size and not so much cracking. We will see what Young Jake thinks of it later :)
