Detectorist at work

We borrowed a dog (Jock, hefty black Lab.) and went down amongst the dog walkers. There, weaving his way across Porty beach, a well equipped "Metal Detectorist" was combing the wind blown sand with his electronic....... comb. Another way to spoil a good walk maybe? That kit would have bought maybe a thousand 99 ice creams or 500 Beach House/Espy coffees.

Still playing with the 7D and 70-200, also bought at a cost of around a thousand 99s, for new business streams. Good feel and very handy, the camera, not the 99. Glass (Glace?) is outstanding. Has to be said that SONY equivalents just aren't weatherproof - seems like they simply can't get serious about providing pros with what they need. Pity as the top end Zeiss lenses are fabulous, optically. Still love the A900 with the 24-70 - it's like a shot gun and bags lots of pics. 7D is a sniper's outfit.
