Wall

Saddened by the news of Gary Speed today. He was a proper role model for all youth wanting to know what it takes to be a great footballer. These spoilt players that make the news could learn a thing or two about respect and dignity from him. Shocking news, and a sad day for not just football, but everyone.

As a Sheffield United fan I was over the moon when he joined a few years back. Such a legend playing at the Lane was wonderful, and it was great to see him play. Although his brief managerial stint was not the most successful, he remained popular throughout and all wished him well when he went on to the Wales job.

I hope that his troubles and tragic death can in some way raise awareness and help those in similar situations. Help should be sought and provided when people feel they are facing a solid wall - they should not have to face breaking it down alone - not all have the strength to do so.
