Went to visit Edinburgh Castle for free today with my dear friend Janey Sparkle* - an off peak saving of £14.00 - mange tak!

Although it was sunny it was noticeably cooler out. Baltic even. Especially with the wind chill. At least the clear weather meant we got uninterrupted views in all directions.

VisitScotland must be very encouraged by the high volume of tourists in town at the end of November. While it wasn't heaving like during the Festival, the Royal Mile was by no means dead.

It's just a shame about all the tartan tat shops, selling the same generic rubbish and blasting out Scottish 'anthems' on loop... A bit of diversity would be nice, but then again I guess it's a question of retail units being occupied or lying empty...not sure which is the lesser of two evils...
