Booth Canal
This estuary is slowly silting up because the washing effect of the tide has been stemmed by the spit (on the horizon ). The spit (a groyne-like protrusion) was placed for the use of the guests of the then (1978) Booth Bay Resort.
Subsequent silt from clearing land for a subdivision help the silting. The clam beds no longer exhist. There is a group of people trying to get the spit removed to restore the health of Booth Canal.
Best seen large.
2006: Winter.
